SMILE pro 2.0 Smile Laser Vision Correction

SMILE pro 2.0 is a laser vision correction procedure offered by Clarity Eye Centre, utilizing the German-engineered ZEISS VISUMAX® 800 femtosecond laser to correct myopia (nearsightedness) and astigmatism. With a laser frequency of 2 MHz, the procedure takes approximately 10 seconds per eye—less than half the time required for the standard SMILE procedure (which takes about 25 seconds).

Building upon the existing OcuLign® (astigmatism axis guidance) and CentraLign® (visual axis guidance) technologies found in SMILE pro, the 2.0 version introduces the following enhancements:
Automated Iris Recognition and Guidance: Automatically corrects for ocular rotation during the procedure, ensuring more precise alignment of the astigmatism axis. Integrated Vision Correction Data Platform: Consolidates pre-operative examination data to enhance the accuracy of the vision correction.

Astigmatism axis aided navigation OcuLign ®

Before performing laser vision correction, it is necessary to determine the astigmatism axis of the patient's eyeball to ensure that the laser can be applied on the correct astigmatism axis. The "Astigmatism Axis Assisted Navigation" function can display the pre-measured astigmatism axis position in real time, allowing doctors to adjust the laser position during vision correction, thereby improving the accuracy of astigmatism axis positioning.

Every human eye has a visual axis deviation called the Kappa angle, which represents the degree to which the visual axis deviates from the center of the pupil. Automated Iris Recognition and Guidance

When a patient lies down, the eye may undergo slight rotation, which can lead to deviations in the astigmatism axis. SMILE pro 2.0 Vision Procedure

SMILE pro 2.0 vision correction process is similar to the previous generation SMILE correction, it is a single Step-by-step technology, the middle part of the cornea is directly cut with a laser, and a small incision of 2-4 mm will be made at the same time. The doctor will take out the cut part of the cornea from the incision to change the curvature of the cornea to achieve the corrective effect.
