How to prepare for SMILE/ LASIK

• Stop wearing contact lenses before pre-operation eye checkup and surgery:
• Soft Lens(1 week)
• Hard Lens(3-4 weeks)
• Refractive Lens (Orthok) (3months)
• Be sure to tell doctors if you have drug allergies

A comprehensive eye examination before surgery

• Computer Eye Check up
• Intraocular pressure measurement
• Refraction Test
• Coeneal Topography
• Mydriasis
• Eye Examination by Ophthalmologist
• The examination will take about 1-2 hours

Day of surgery instructions

• We suggest you have a responsive adult to accompany you here
• No eye and facial make-up
• No perfume, cologne or fragrances is allowed to use
• Wear comfortable clothing. Please wear shirts or blouses that button or zip up the front
• Final refraction test before surgery, in order to make sure patient is ready for SMILE/ LASIK
• Topical anesthetic eye drops are instilled, patient needs to stay still during the process
• Follow your doctor's instruction
• The final examination and surgery will take about 2-3 hours

Post-operative instruction (For the first week after surgery)

• No eye make-up
• Avoid shampoo or soap getting into your eyes
• Avoid perfume or hair spray getting into your eyes
• Retrain from driving
• No swimming or steam sauna
• No contact sports
• No alcohol and smoking
• Wear sunglasses when you are outdoor to prevent irritation of ultraviolet light
• Avoid going to air-polluted area
• Follow the doctor's instructions for eye drops and regular follow-up
